Thursday morning Chase said that he wanted to wear his blue swim shirt. Greg told him if he wanted to wear it then he was going to have to poop in the toilet. Of course Chase protested but after sitting on the toilet off and on for about 40 minutes he finally pooped! He was very proud of himself and so were we. As soon as he finished he said " Mommy I wear the blue shirt?"
The next morning, Chase wanted to wear his blue swim shirt again. I told him it was dirty but he could wear his other one if he pooped in the toilet again. That seemed to satisfy him and he went to the bathroom to sit on the toilet. It took him another 30 minutes to complete the task at hand. He was all excited again and of course we made a big deal out of it. He was all smiles as he put on his blue and orange swim shirt (see the above picture).
This morning we had another dilemma. Chase didn't have to poop because the boy ate next to nothing the day before. He was too busy playing at the 4th of July party that we attended. I'm also running out of swim shirts to bribe him with :-) And, we've also come to the conclusion that bribing probably isn't the best way to handle potty training. We're trying a little bit of everything right now!
