I've been teaching Chase his name this past week. The only thing is that I can't get him to say Chase Gurgone, he always says Gurgone Chase. I guess he'll get it eventually. I was pretty impressed with the fact that he could say "Gurgone." There are a lot of adults who can't say it :-)

2nd Birthday Celebration

Last night Chase and I met his friend Yosef and his mom at a mall so that we could celebrate their birthdays together. Yosef's birthday is on the 10th and Chase's is the 16th, although Yosef is one year older. We went to the amusement park inside the mall and spent several hours riding all the rides. The boys had a blast and we had a blast watching them. After playing for a few hours it was time to eat dinner (at 8:30p.m.) We left the amusement area and went out into the mall to one of the food court areas. It's a Thursday night which is the busiest night of the week for going out. This place was PACKED!!! Needless to say, we were all exhausted and ready to go to bed by the time we finally finished our meal. We still had a 40 minute ride home!

This birthday is not over yet. His actual birthday is tomorrow and we have one more celebration with some friends. I'll get those pictures posted in the next day or two.

Birthday Celebration #1

Chase had a birthday party yesterday at his nursery. I made cupcakes for his class. They sang happy birthday in English and Arabic. I have that on video which I will try to post either today or tomorrow. They also gave him a gift as a class. They gave him a puzzle and a small chalk board in the shape of an elephant. He loves them both, but especially the chalk board. After they all had cupcakes their teacher led them in a few games. They played musical chairs, which got a little crazy so then they played another game which required them all to sit down and be calm :-)

When the games were over it was "project time." The teacher has several stations set up and the kids get to choose what project they would like to do. Chase chose to wash dishes, which I thought was funny. I thought for sure he'd pick the finger paints because that would be really messy. I also have video of him washing dishes which I will post soon.

After this project, we went home and he took a nap. When he woke up we got ready to go to his 2nd birthday celebration, which I will post either later tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned!
