Greg was going through some of his new Tang Soo Do moves so that he and Chase could practice later this week.  This was really just meant to be a video for him to review later in the week so he would remember the moves.  He had Chase help him in one of the moves and Chase decided to be a comedian.  This boy is always making us laugh!

Chase has improved so much on his reading this year.  When we first started school he hated to read but now he actually asks if he can read more than what I have planned each day!  

Snow Day!

It started snowing Saturday around 6:30 p.m. We were only supposed to get around 2 - 4 inches but we ended up with 6 inches. Chase was so excited to see it snowing. We spent the morning outside playing and now it's time for some hot chocolate and a good movie!

Beavers

Chase joined the Beaver Scouts a few weeks ago and last night he received his first two badges and his uniform. He was very proud of his badges. He has made some friends and is looking forward to camping this summer.

Student of the Year Award and Orange Belt

Yesterday Chase received his orange belt and he also received the Junior Student of the Year award for 2011! We are so very proud of you Chase, well done!

Chase's comic book

Grandma and Grandpa sent Chase a Crayola Story Studio Spiderman set that let's you add your picture to the Spiderman Comic Book. Chase loved the fact that Spiderman was talking to him and that he was a part of the action. Chase's Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Christy and Nicholas also sent him a Crayola Story Studio set which is from the movie Cars. He's anxious to do that one next, but first he has to sit still long enough to color the pages in the first comic book, which is a challenge. Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Christy and Nicholas for the cool gifts!

Lucifer

A couple of months ago we were flying out of Heathrow airport and when we came up to the check-in counter something funny happened. We gave the man behind the counter our tickets. Each ticket had our first and part of our middle names on it. Well, Chase's had his name (this is before we officially changed it) which was LuisFer. So the guy said "and this is Lucifer." We both kind of chuckled when he said it. Did he really think we named our child Lucifer? I guess he did because he continued to call him that until we left the counter. Thankfully, Chase's new passport has Chase Martinez on it so we won't have that problem again!

This is WAR!

There is a cat in our neighborhood that has decided to dig up our yard every night after we go to bed. This cat is digging a huge hole and it only comes at night. Greg bought some spray that is suppose to deter cats from digging in your yard. But of course, about an hour after he sprayed the grass it rained and washed it all away. We called our local council to find out what we can do to get rid of this cat. The lady told us that they don't deal with cats. She said cats like to roam and its natural for them to dig in other peoples yards and we should just not worry about it. We didn't really like that answer so Greg decided to put down chicken wire so it can't dig anymore. So far it's working. Hopefully when Greg takes up the wire in the Spring so he can cut the grass the cat will have learned not to come to this yard.
